Overview
The 1st
quarter 2022 count of hotel guests and overnight stays, showed an increase in
the number of guests and an increase in overnight stays in all of Greenland
compared to the 1st quarter of 2021.
In the 1st
quarter of 2022 there were a total of 21,137 hotel guests and 57,169 overnight
stays across the 58 hostels and other tourist accommodations in Greenland that
Statistics Greenland receive reports from. The number of overnight guests saw
an increase of 71.6 pct. Whereas the number of overnight stays saw a rise of
40.0 pct., as compared to the same period of
2021.

Number
of guests in the 1st quarter of 2022
The number
of overnight guests rose by 71.6 pct. compared to 2021. The biggest change was
seen in Qeqqata Kommunia
where the number of overnight guests rose by 133.0 pct.

Overnight
stays
The number
of overnight stays in the 1st quarter of 2022 saw an increase of
40.0 pct. compared to 2021. The biggest change was in Qeqqata
Kommunia where the number of overnight stays
increased by 90.6 pct.
